Richard Allitt Associates Ltd (RAA) part of RSK Group was established in 1996 to deliver innovative solutions for the complex needs of customers of the urban drainage industry. 

We are now hiring for an Associate Director to join the team on a hybrid basis in Crawley, UK. 

This is a permanent position for an Associate Director with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in hydraulic modelling or project management and a proven background in wastewater networks planning and engineering. The successful candidate will have a relevant degree and chartered status, or significant progress towards qualification, with CIWEM or ICE and will have an eagerness to become involved in the analysis of sewers and urban watercourses to identify and design solutions to mitigate the urban flood risk.

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Providing leadership, direction and advice, acting at all times with professional integrity and exercising sound professional judgment within (and recognising the limits of) your competence
  • Working with a small team of Modellers to develop Integrated Urban Drainage solutions
  • Responsibility for the Financial and Technical management of projects
  • Taking a proactive role in mentoring staff towards their full potential, leading by example, and supporting a quality-led culture
  • Liaising with Clients, Statutory Authorities and Stakeholders
  • Assisting with the development of new techniques and skills
  • Preparing reports etc and undertaking checking of work done by others
  • Undertaking other duties as required to meet the project workload
  •  Developing your professional knowledge and skills; maintaining a personal CPD record and an up to-date professional CV
  • Work as part of the senior leadership team and support the extended leadership team to direct the future of RAA

 

Person Specification: 

 

  • Minimum 8 years proven experience in wastewater network engineering
  • Chartered Member of a relevant professional institution (or approaching Chartered status)
  • Highly proficient computer and technical skills
  • Ability to effectively manage workloads
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work under pressure in a team environment

Our proficient teams of consulting engineers resolve flooding problems in the urban environment using the latest hydraulic modelling and analytical techniques. We are a team of 25 and joined RSK in March 2022. From offices spread throughout the UK, we have been providing integrated flood risk consultancy services, including hydraulic modelling, urban flood forecasting, catchment planning, hydrology, surface water and drainage assessments and flood risk management. Clients include Scottish Water, Anglian Water, Wessex Water, Severn Trent, Southern Water, the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and Network Rail.
